SLATE Theme Leader and Senior Researcher Ingunn Johanne Ness will be presenting the chatbot Inez at UiB Innovation Day, a meeting place for researchers, students, and partners from industry and the public sector in the region.
The first UiB Innovation Day took place in 2024. This year's UiB Innovation Day will be focused on celebrating 200 years of research and innovation at the University of Bergen. The event will highlight research and innovation across all UiB faculties, showcasing some of the most exciting projects at the university, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between research and society. In addition, the event will delve into current issues related to innovation — for example, what role UiB plays in the green transition in the region.
This year, there will also be a special anniversary exhibition in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the University Museum of Bergen.
Dr. Ingunn Johanne Ness will be part of the program at 09:45 – 10:25, during the session called "200 second pitches", where short talks are held on inspiring innovation activities at UiB. Her talk is entitled When AI Joins the Team: Inez as a Creative Collaborator.
Inez is a dialogic, talking chatbot designed to support and enhance creative co-creation in group work. Developed in partnership with Capgemini, Inez is part of the research project AI-assisted Creativity, Learning and Innovation in Higher Education & Work Life (AI-CREATE), which explores how generative AI is transforming creativity, learning, and innovation at individual, team, and organisational levels.
